This course is designed for Early Childhood Educators and individuals training to become educators\, but anyone interested in this content is welcomed to register. \nThis five hour training will explore strategies for planning\ndevelopmentally appropriate curriculum for young children that is aligned with childinterests/skills and with the Vermont Early Learning Standards. Through anddiscussion\, participants will increase understanding of how to use o bservation\, VELS and knowledge of early development and developmentally appropriate practice to guide planning for intentional and engaging learning. \nSchedule: \n9:00-10:30—Overview of the Purpose and Use of the VELS and Principles of Developmentally Appropriate Practices (large group)\n10:45-12:15— Building our understanding of how to use the VELS effectively when planning developmentally appropriate curriculum for infants\, toddlers\, and preschoolers (small groups)\n12:15-1:00 Lunch (on your own)\n1:00-3:00— Developing our practices: We will explore practical strategies for\nplanning and implementing curriculum in infant\, toddler and preschool settings that is both emergent\, child centered AND intentionally aligned with specific learning goals and intended outcomes for children.

SUMMARY:Adventure Together - Thursdays in July & August
DESCRIPTION:Join Kayla and Krista for a summer full of adventures and fun!  Every Thursday at 10 AM from July 3rd\, 2025-August 22rd\, 2025 SAPCC Traveling Playgroup will visit a new\, fun\, educational location!! SAPCC provides admission costs\, $20 gas cards for families in need each travel week and lunch for each family! Please note that on the weeks that the group is walking\, lunch and gas cards are NOT provided! Trips will happen every other week and on our off weeks we will visit different nature areas around the region! While walking around the different nature areas there will be different activities for the families to do as well as exploring the grounds around them. \n**Registration is required to attend\, Parents/caregivers must attend with their children** \nThis summer we will visit the following locations: \n\n\nSchedule for July: \n\n\n\n\nJuly 3rd – Trip to Billings Farm in Woodstock VT. \n\n\nJuly 10th – Walk at Power Dam in Perkinsville VT. \n\n\nJuly 17th – Trip to VINS in Quechee VT. \n\n\nJuly 24th – Walk at Distant Hill in Walpole NH. \n\n\nJuly 31st – Walk at Patch Park in Charlestown NH. \n\n\n\n\nSchedule for August: \n\n\n\n\nAugust 7th – Trip to Montshire in Norwich VT. \n\n\nAugust 14th – Trip to Silver Lake in Barnard VT. \n\n\nFriday August 22nd – Overnight Camping Trip at Plymouth State Park. DESCRIPTION:Have some family fun at our SAPCC Duck Run – 2025 Running of the Rubber Ducks! FREE ADMISSION \nCome enjoy our family block party on June 28\, 4-7PM. Music\, food vendors\, bounce house\, foam cannon\, water slide\, resources\, raffles\, and more! \nThis event is a fundraiser for the Springfield Area Parent Child Center.
