Are you getting ready to OR are you in the process of transitioning your baby to solid food? Did you know that there are signs to look out for indicating your baby is ready for this process? Come and chat with our Speech Language Pathologist, Meaghan Wilson, and Physical Therapist, Annalise Lawrence about what, when, where, and how to begin introducing solids to your baby! Topics of discussion include:
 The different approaches to feeding your baby solid food
 High chairs and ideal positioning for exploring solid food
 Utensils and cups that are developmentally appropriate
 The difference between gagging, coughing, and choking
 Sensory issues that can come up with certain textures and flavors
 Typical first foods and the amount of solid food your baby will eat
 Following your baby’s cues to know when to give more and when to be all done
We will also focus on the importance of a meal time routine and some simple strategies to incorporate that work on other areas of development during meals/snacks.
All parents, caregivers and their children are welcome!
